Privacy policy
How Able Management Pty Ltd (ABN 92 609 933 057), trading as Able Aged Care Australia, collects, uses, shares and protects personal information. We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and, for health information, the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW).
Who we are
We arrange in-home allied health, nursing and home services for older people and NDIS participants. We work with independent clinicians and tradespeople, who deliver the services, and with aged care providers, coordinators and families, who refer clients to us.
What we collect
Clients. Name, address, contact details, the service needed, relevant health and care information, and the details of the person or organisation that referred them and arranges their funding.
Referrers and family contacts. Name, organisation, role and contact details.
Clinicians and tradespeople in our network. Business and contact details, ABN, the areas you cover, availability and rates, professional registration, insurance, police check, worker screening and Working with Children Check details, and payment details for paying your invoices.
Business contacts. Work contact details of people at aged care and disability organisations and in health and trade businesses, so we can tell them about our services or invite them to work with us.
Website visitors. Only what you type into our forms. Our site has no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs for security, and pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address.
How we collect it
Mostly from the person making a referral (a care provider, coordinator, health professional, the client or their family), and from clinicians and tradespeople themselves, through our website forms, email, phone and online forms. Business contact details may come from public sources such as organisations' websites and professional networking sites. Health information is collected only with consent, given by the client or by someone authorised to act for them, and only as much as is needed to deliver the service safely.
How we use it
- to find a suitable clinician or tradesperson and arrange, deliver and invoice the service
- to pass progress notes and reports to the client's care manager or coordinator
- to check that the people we engage are qualified, registered, insured and screened
- to keep the records we're required to keep, and to meet our legal and funding obligations
- to tell business contacts about our services; you can opt out at any time
Who we share it with
- The clinician or tradesperson delivering the service: only what they need, such as the client's name, address, contact details and relevant health information. We don't give them the referring organisation's internal details.
- The client's care provider, coordinator or plan manager: the people who arranged and fund the service, including progress notes, reports and invoices. We send these from Able, never by forwarding a clinician's own emails.
- Our service providers, who store or process information for us: Google Workspace (email, documents and storage), MYOB (accounting), Cloudflare (website), electronic signature and SMS services, and software tools, including AI-assisted tools, that help us manage emails, referrals and records. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We use reputable providers with appropriate security and confidentiality commitments.
- Others where the law requires or permits, for example to lessen a serious threat to someone's life, health or safety.
We don't sell personal information.
Website forms
Our referral form doesn't ask for the client's name; we ask for identifying details only once a service is confirmed. Form submissions go to our secure business systems (Google Workspace).
Emails and opting out
If we email you about our services or about joining our network and you'd rather we didn't, reply "remove" or contact us, and we'll stop. We never send marketing to clients.
Storage, security and how long we keep it
Information is kept in password-protected business systems, with access limited to people who need it. Health records are kept for at least 7 years after the last service, as NSW law requires, and then securely deleted. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we'll notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Access and correction
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days. If we can't give access, we'll explain why.
Questions and complaints
Contact us first: office@ableagedcare.com, 02 9533 5566, or Suite G01, 14 Buderim Avenue, Kareela NSW 2232. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992) or, about health information, the NSW Information and Privacy Commission (ipc.nsw.gov.au, 1800 472 679).
